Watches have been a passion since my youth, when I observed my grandfather patiently repairing and restoring customers’ timepieces at his workshop in Nantes, France where I was born. As a professional designer, I have long dreamed about the ideal timekeeper for me. My first sketches, polished and refined over the years, have developed into the watch that I would like to share with you today. Much more than a time-telling piece, it’s an object of desire with an original design that defies traditional case and bracelet contours. The launch date is as essential for me as my need to transform and create. April 29 was my grandfather’s birthday, and I dedicate MENINTIME to him.

When choosing to establish MenInTime at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Vincent Rouillard knew he would be able to select from among the finest manufacturers of watch components and assemblers in the world. Located in the canton of Neuchâtel in the Swiss Jura mountains, the small city has been known for its watchmaking culture and expertise for more than two centuries, and many of the world’s leading watch brands have their roots there. The entire timepiece is 100% manufactured in Switzerland, with "Swiss Made" branded on the dial, and engraved on the bracelet and individually numbered case-back.
The case is crafted in 7 different versions, with brushed satin, bead-blasted matte, or hand- polished finishes, or a combination of these. The 94 separate parts that compose the bracelet consisting of 55 links, 30 pins, and the 9-piece clasp are individually machined before being brushed, blasted, or polished by hand. The greatest difficulties encountered in the fabrication of the timepiece are the original shapes created by Vincent Rouillard. The sloped oval case is particularly difficult to fashion and polish, and the finishing and assembly of the 94 bracelet components require fastidious and time-consuming attention to achieve the impeccable results obtained.
